Actor Ha Jung Woo’s Perspective on His 6-Year-Old Half-Brother From His 80-Year-Old Father

Kim Yong Gun opened up about becoming a dad again at 75 and how his sons reacted to their youngest brother.

The controversy began when Kim Yong Gun appeared on the April 6, 2026 episode of tvN STORY’s Table Tales. The host, Lee Young Ja, brought up a clip of Kim playing with his 30-month-old grandson. Kim then revealed he has a youngest son, the maknae.

Kim admitted it wasn’t easy having a child so late in life after raising his two actor sons, Ha Jung Woo and Cha Hyun Woo.

“Now I’m the one running after him. It’s hard to keep up and play together… I had a child so late in life, and at first, it was very difficult.”

He said his older sons encouraged him by saying,

“Father, think of it as a blessing.”

That support helped him accept the situation.

Kim Yong Gun now spends as much time as possible with his youngest.

“I want to see him as much as I can, even if it’s just one more day. So now I even go to kids’ cafés. Before, I worried about people whispering or giving me negative looks.
But now I just wish I could spend more time with him. That’s how I feel. I think I don’t have much time left. Whenever I can, I video call him, or I wait for him after daycare. That makes me happy.”

Back in 2021, Kim Yong Gun made headlines after revealing he had a child out of wedlock with a woman 39 years younger. That led to public conflict and a legal dispute over the pregnancy and birth. The disagreement was later settled, and Kim officially registered the child in his family registry.
