BTS’s Jungkook Criticized for Alleged Arrogant Behavior Toward Fans
BTS’s Jungkook is facing backlash after a Weverse live on April 7 where he told international fans to learn Korean instead of asking him to read English comments.
The controversy began when Jungkook, who was previously criticized for allegedly going live drunk and using profanities, responded to fans requesting him to read their English messages. He bluntly said:
I’m not good at English, so I only read the Korean ones. I rarely look at the English ones… So use Korean? Learn how to use Korean.

Fans quickly reacted online. Many ARMYs praised Jungkook for being honest and setting clear boundaries about why he can’t respond to every comment.

Soon after, international netizens pushed back. Some argued that if a female idol said this, she would be labeled rude, but Jungkook was excused because he’s a male idol.

Others pointed out the contradiction that Jungkook and BTS have released full English songs and albums, including Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN, aimed at Western fans. They called his demand arrogant.

Critics said expecting fans to learn Korean while he doesn’t speak English for them felt unfair.
The guy has a full album in English (English that he obviously doesn’t know) even though he knows he has Korean fans. Then he didn’t care that many of his fans don’t know English. He can demand that they learn his language, but he can’t learn English for his fans, kinda arrogant, huh?
