BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Past Struggles Resurface Amid Brother’s Controversy

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is facing backlash as accusations against her brother, Kim Jung Hoon, continue to pile up.
The controversy began when Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO, released an official statement on April 20, KST, denying any connection between the idol and her brother’s alleged crimes. The statement emphasized that Jisoo has lived independently from her family since her trainee days and has no involvement in her brother’s life.
Soon after, a 2018 video resurfaced online, sparking more discussion about Jisoo’s family atmosphere. In the clip, Jisoo recalled a childhood incident where she got a scar on her forehead from a prank by her brother. He convinced her that pesticide truck smoke could kill her and told her to climb a playground structure. Trusting him, she climbed but hit her head on a railing, causing a serious injury.
Jisoo explained that even though she was bleeding badly, her brother shrugged it off and told her to keep climbing. She waited on top of the structure until the truck passed and then walked home still bleeding. Her family cleaned the wound but never took her to a hospital.
“Because of that, I’ve suffered quite a few serious injuries over the years,” Jisoo admitted in the clip.
Fans quickly reacted to this story, pointing out that the home environment Jisoo grew up in seems troubling. Despite Jisoo’s denial of any ties to her brother, his alleged crimes continue to affect her public image.
